Benefits of Buying a Modular Home
Modular homes are built from materials that are stored indoors as well as the home being built in a controlled environment – you have to ask yourself do I want the structure of my home rained on - snowed on? Modular homes are built indoors, ensuring a well-built home for many years to come.
What Do You Get?
• Strong and low moisture structure - using graded lumber means lower moisture content and fewer knots. Lower moisture content helps eliminate warping and fewer knots means stroger lumber. A modular home will have 2 x 10 floor joists 16-inch on center using graded lumber.
• Greater strength and stability when installed over a basement or crawl space- modular homes have a double 2 x 10 perimeter system and 4, 2 x 10 @ center line.
• Strong Even Flooring - the floor will be ¾” tongue and groove O.S.B. Which is one of the strongest most durable decking materials available.
• Warm & Energy Efficient Living Spaces - 2 X 6 walls with R-19 insulation. 2 X 6 walls are stronger and have more depth than a 2 x 4 wall which allows for R-19 insulation instead of R-11. All exterior walls are wrapped in O.S.B. and weather wrap. This increases the structural strength of the home and weather wrap helps reduce air infiltration.
• Strong Door Openings & Easy to Clean, Efficient Windows - triple laminated l.V.L. Beams over large door openings and window openings which are 2.5 times stronger than regular lumber. Vinyl thermopane windows that tilt in to clean and that will make your windows easier to clean and your home more energy efficient.
